Selection criteria
Travel Bursaries are allocated on a competitive basis and in relation to the funds available. The Committee’s decision is final, and we are not able to enter into dialogue about our evaluation. However, candidates are free to apply again in subsequent rounds.
- Travel Bursaries are assessed by the ISDCI board members based on the following criteria, which should be clearly addressed in the motivation or support letter:
-
- The level of contribution to the conference (poster; oral presentation)
-
- The level of travel grant support previously received from the ISDCI
-
- First-time attendance (or not) to the conference
-
- The level of additional support obtained for the proposed activity
-
- The value of the proposed travel activities to the applicant (e.g. relevance to career given the specific field of study)
-
- The level of seniority of the applicant (i.e. is the applicant in an established position?)
-
- The quality of the application (i.e. content and presentation of the application, not perceived ‘value’ of the work, clarity of the motivation letter)
